This 2-week quick prototype aims to provide a solution to help Australian manage their exposure to the sun. The project covers research, design and prototype.
UV radiation in Australia is greater than other parts of the world for some geographic reasons. Australia people have a much higher skin cancer prevalence due to their love of outdoor activities. There’s a drastically different threshold of uv exposure for people with different skin colours. I want to create an artificial sense of UV radiation to alert people of harmful uv exposure.
The idea is to establish an information connection using UV sensor. UV radiation level is graded by WHO to an index of 12 with different color codes representing each level.
Using a UV sensor and coding with ARDUINO, I am able to prototype a small gadget which can be used as a uv detector and indicating if the uv exposure is too much to cause harm.
